Self-Care Ideas for Stressed Out Brides and Grooms

We have some tips to help you relax!

Planning your wedding day can be (and hopefully is) an amazing and super fun experience. But it can also be stressful and very time-consuming at the same time. Sometimes you just need a break!! Here are some helpful tips to take care of yourself and to help you unwind and relax in the midst of all that planning!

Spa Day

Take a spa day! If you can, go to a local spa and get a few treatments to pamper yourself. Or pamper yourself right at home! Grab some luxurious bath salts, essentials oils, candles, face masks, lotions, etc. and spend an afternoon relaxing and rejuvenating.

Meditation

Take some time every week to have some quiet time, meditate, and/or do some yoga. Even just 10 or 15 minutes of sitting quietly and breathing deeply can make such a huge change in your stress level!

Go For a Walk or a Hike 

Take your partner or a friend, or go by yourself. We all know that physical exercise helps us feel better in so many ways, and so does nature and fresh air. So get out there!

Friends Night Out

Grab your girls or your guys and head out for a night of fun! Have some dinner and drinks, or go dancing! Maybe even throw in some karaoke or bowling. Whatever you do, just have a good time and relax!

Get a Massage

 Massages can lower heart rate, blood pressure, cortisol levels, and anxiety. So schedule a massage and really let yourself relax!

Take a Hot Bath

Take a hot bath once a week. Soaking in a hot bath or spa can help soothe muscle aches from stress and help you decompress. You can just have quiet time, or you can listen to some music or read a book. Just...no wedding planning. 

Eat Nutritious Meals

How we eat affects our physical health, but it also plays a major role in our mental health. Giving your brain the right nutrition it needs to operate at its best can directly affect your mood.

Schedule a Date Night

Don't forget to make time for you and your partner to catch up and have fun together, without wedding planning. Go to dinner and a movie, or even a weekend getaway if you can swing it! Whatever you do, make sure you are spending time together, just the two of you.
